Proudly independent and producing hop-forward beers in Cornwall since 2014, Verdant Brewing Co. maintains an uncompromising focus on flavour, consistency and innovation.
For over a decade, Verdant beers have been poured in over 1,000 venues across the UK and exported to more than 20 countries worldwide. Inspired by hazy, hop-forward US beers that weren’t available in the UK back then, Verdant has become one of the country’s most admired breweries, allowing its team to challenge conventions and inspire a spirit of independent creativity. Verdant’s freshest beers – juicy, hazy, and unfiltered – are also available in over 150 pubs, restaurants and bottleshops across Cornwall.
First brewed in 2015 on the original Falmouth site, Lightbulb is Verdant’s flagship Extra Pale Ale (4.5%) that’s remained unchanged in recipe and unwavering in character ever since. As pale as a 100-watt light bulb, but as juicy as an IPA. Sessionable, quenching and moreish. Lightbulb has a biscuity malt base with a subtle bitterness, all drenched in fruity hops, and a finish that beckons another glass. Brewed using the very best hops sourced from the US, they provide that signature aroma: bright, citrusy, lifted, and gently resinous. Whilst Lightbulb is Verdant’s most popular Pale Ale, fresh beers are brewed weekly, with new beer drops regularly selling out fast on the Verdant webshop.
Lightbulb is also served at each of Verdant’s own four venues. At the Verdant Taproom in Penryn, the freshest beers are poured metres from where they’re brewed. Schooners, a spectacular sea-facing hideaway in St Agnes, pairs pints with crashing surf and Neapolitan sourdough pizzas. In Falmouth, the newly renovated Seaview Inn offers a proper community pub feel, with bold, authentic Indian dishes in the desi-inspired kitchen, while The Seafood Bar brings together the freshest local catch, served tapas-style in an intimate setting.
